The Forbidden Valley: Book 1, Chapter 3

Master of 7 Masters:
The Quest to Finding Your Inner Self

Encounter

“Okay class. That is it for the day. Remember to bring your journal log to write down everything you will see in the forest tomorrow. Michael, I will give you a journal tomorrow and assign you a partner to help you out,” Michael smiled and looked at the teacher. She had assigned him to sit a seat in front of Lorelei. Lorelei was glad about that because she would look at him rather than him at her. She felt uncomfortable around him. But today was not a day to worry about him or his glares. Today Lorelei worried more about her brother and how he was doing. After what happened last night and the news he heard she worried because he never spoke of it again. Not even at night. They always discussed things that happened around them throughout the day. But last night was different. He went to sleep early and did not say anything to her at all. In the morning he acted normal, like nothing had happened last night. It was not only him that worried her; it was her mother too. She was the same, wondering if it had all been a dream.  “Alright class, you may leave. Be careful and remember to stay home before the moon touches the clock tower,” everyone said bye to each other; most students stayed. Lorelei said bye to her friends and went towards the door. Before she reached the exit, Michael grabbed her hand and asked her to speak with her privately. She worried but agreed to do so.

“Hey Sam, is you sister in school today?” Sam looked at her friend sitting next to him. He looked at him with a curious look and said, “Yeah, why you want to know?” His friend smiled and came closer to him. “I’ll tell you after class. It’s a secret.” He winked at Sam and moved back to his place. Sam agreed with a nod and went along with his class. “Okay boys, there was to be a transfer student in our class, but due to our classrooms being too full, we had to move him to the girls’ classrooms. As soon as we have enough room, he will move here with us.” Sam listened closely and as he heard that a boy was in the girls’ classrooms, he thought of Lorelei. He worried of her and of something happening to her. “Alright class since we don’t get out until fifteen minutes after the girls get out, we are going start writing our blogs for tomorrow’s writing assignment.”

Lorelei did not know what to do. She had to wait for Sam to get out, and he would not get out until fifteen minutes later. She looked at Michael. Wondering why he was placed in a girls’ classroom. It was not allowed unless he was special or the boys’ classrooms were full. “Lets go this way to Myer’s corner, is that okay?” before Lorelei could answer, she blacked out and all went dark. “Lorelei, I am the angel of eternity. The guardian of life; I have come because you are the chosen child. You are to save your village and the rest of the people from the dark beings and pass every test given to you by the seven ancient masters,” Lorelei listened closely and answered the angel confused, “you must be wrong angelic being because my brother is the chosen child you talk about. My mother proved us yesterday. He has the birthmark the monks’ prophesied. The angel appeared before her and put his arm on her shoulder, “my child, your mother saw a mark, but it is not the mark that claims the chosen child. I claim who the chosen child is. You my dear one, are the chosen child.” He moved towards her and kissed her in the forehead. There after his kissed a mark was placed. Now child you will be visited by the seven holy masters, and they will teach you everything you need to know. The seventh master, though, will give you the final test. You must pass this test, Lorelei; because if you don’t pass the test, the entire world will vanish and all hope will be completely lost.” Lorelei was shocked, but she kept strong because she had to listen to every word. Everything the angel told her was extremely important. “I must leave now, my dear. Take care and begin your quest. Along it, you will find who you really are. You will wind your inner self and never doubt who the real chosen child is; who the real master of the seven masters is.”

The angel disappeared and Lorelei could see again. “Lorelei?” she looked at Michael, “yeah that’s fine.” She thought of everything she had just witness; of everything that has just been said to her. Doubting what is real now. She no longer knew what and who to believe. But she still has hope, she chooses not give up, and think about everything she knows so far. Michael turns around and looks at Lorelei as he walks ahead of her. “I think she knows about me. She might know I’m her opposite. I have to find out” he turned around and kept walking ahead. “So Lorelei, what do you know of the prophecy from nineteen years ago? I hear it’s a myth and that the child was never born. I have also heard that the last part of the prophecy though did come true.” Lorelei surprised at what Michael said asked him quickly, “what last part?” Michael smiled and turned around once he reached Myers’ corner and said “The part where the opposite child was to be born and bring out the darkness and rule the Lands of Zaria. A monk told me on my way to Karrino Village that the son of darkness, he called him, was born a day after the chosen child was prophesied to be born. He cried and told me that the Lands of Zaria were doomed because the chosen child, the master of seven masters was never born.”

Lorelei was shocked and confused. She had not heard of that part of the prophecy; maybe the monks never sang that part of the prophecy to not terrify the village. She walked looked down and thought deeply of everything she had just heard. She thought of every occurring event that had happened today. Everything concerned her now, looking up; she noticed that Michael was gone. He was no longer where he was standing. Then suddenly someone held her hands from behind. She tried to fight against whoever was holding her. He lifted her up and moved her towards him. She could not see who it was because of the sun rays. “Let me go, who are you dark being?” the being just laughed and grabbed her from the neck. He took a blade out and smiled. He sliced a scratch on her hand leaving her a bloody mark from elbow to wrist. She wanted to scream but if she did, she would bring danger to someone else. She held in the pain and tried to move away from him. She was bleeding too much and began to feel weak. She was helpless in the air. “I’ve failed you angel, and everyone in Zaria” everything seemed to blur out.

“Let her go you worthless being, she’s mine.” Lorelei heard someone else, she felt relieved. The mystery person then said, “I am the only one who gets to hurt her and kill her” she felt frighten, no longer relieved. She was not safe again. “She heard a horrifying scream. But before she could see who it was, she passed out. Before she reached the floor the mysterious person had catch her. “Lorelei, I feel horrible for what is to come for you dear, but I fear it might be the only way.” He moved his hand in a circular way and the dark being began to burn in flames. He looked at her and moved her hair from her face. “I’m sorry it has to be this way. But I, Michael must destroy you or you will destroy my world and kill me.”

The burned dark being disappeared and there was nothing left to prove of his existence. Michael leaned towards Lorelei while he held her in his arm. He was about to kiss her when he heard someone coming their way. He put her on the ground and said, “I will keep my eyes on you Lorelei, my sweet flower.” He then vanished from sight.
